Class Descriptions

Ashtanga is a system of yoga first transmitted to the West by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois that involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures. The sequences are ordered purposefully in such a way as to move the practitioner organically deeper into the experiences of the body, nervous system, mind
and spirit.

Bliss Body find your center and restore your body in this open level full body stretch class with focused awareness on breath. Utilize this time to release the stress and come inwards to increase internal expansion, greater flexibility, and mental calm.

Chair Yoga a gentle, mostly seated class that includes slow movements, breath work, visualization, meditation, and relaxation. The students will be using a chair as a place of comfort and support and also as an aid to practice balance and stability.

Evening Vinyasa is dialed down a notch, honoring our energetic levels at the end of the day.  Arrive and enjoy quiet stillness, move the body with breath awareness, burn off excess energy, and wind down to a deeper state of relaxation as you prepare for a restful night.

Gentle Yoga a nurturing and gentler style of Hatha Yoga practice incorporating both seated and standing poses. We move at a slower pace with attention to breath awareness and postural alignment for rejuvenation and healing, pausing with extended time for meditation and relaxation.

Kids Yoga children learn techniques for movement, relaxation, and inner peace, so that they can navigate life’s challenges with a little more ease. This class encourages self-esteem and body awareness through a physical activity that’s noncompetitive. Fostering cooperation and compassion is a great gift to give our child.  It is not only beneficial and healthy for kiddos of all ages, but most importantly, it is FUN!

Kundalini is an ancient science of awareness which combines postures, movements, breath, stretching, relaxation, meditation, rhythm and sound current to work on every aspect of your being: physical, mental and subtle body. Through the self-discovery of your total creative potential you’ll create balance in your life and benefit from a clear mind, healthy body and happiness. No previous experience in yoga is required and you should experience immediate benefits from the very first class.

Mindful Morning Flow is welcoming of all levels as we greet the dawning of a new day with the practice of asana, pranayama, and meditation. Class will include sun salutations to warm up the body, and asanas (typically longer/static holds) to encourage flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation. You will leave this practice feeling energized and clear, ready to take on your day with a positive outlook that will improve your productivity and concentration.

Morning Vinyasa is a moderate, breath based flow which allows you to arrive and enjoy quiet stillness, warm up and energize the body, and leave class ready to enter the rest of your day with purpose, vitality and equanimity.

Mysore is a form of assisted self-practice where one learns the yoga postures of ashtanga yoga at their own pace. You will cultivate inner awareness and individual responsibility for your practice while receiving personalized support from your teacher.  This is a space to go deep within.  While all levels are welcome, a commitment is necessary. If this peaks your interest please contact us in advance.

Prana Flow a dynamic and uplifting open level class that weaves together the embodiment practices of yoga, qi gong, pranayama, bioenergetics and free flow dance.  Accompanied by music which is a tool to help support the release of tension and tightness, while increasing energy flow, openness and positive upliftment.

Restorative designed with gentle floor-based sequences using bolsters, blankets, and props that support the practitioner to fully relax the muscles, slow down the mental activity of the brain, shift emotional patterns, bring ease to the breath, and tune into the nervous system’s healing capacity.  This class is perfect for any age or level student.

Yoga Nidra is like a deep sleep while you are still awake. There is no physical effort at all. If you can breathe, you can do this practice! Rest your mind and body supported by props as you are guided on a journey within. Great for insomnia, stress and to simply recharge.
30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of conventional sleep!

Private + Small Groups

Traditionally, yoga was taught one on one, directly from teacher to student.  Private instruction draws on this tradition and is an opportunity to develop a personal practice which best meets the needs of the individual student. You can start a new practice, deepen your practice, or spend some time working with an injury or condition.  Everyone should experience the benefits of yoga in a safe, personal way.

During a time when it is imperative to keep our circles tight, Small Group and Private Yoga sessions are also a great way to enjoy the energy of practicing with others, guided by your teacher’s more focused attention in a selectively curated group to ensure your safety and well-being.

Want us to come to you?  Small groups a private sessions can be arrange in the studio, on our back deck or in your home or at the location of your choice.  We love teaching out at the beach and in the park.

Give us a call or send us an email to inquire about booking a Small Group or Private Yoga Class.
